Taxes take over the truth

“He that loseth wealth loseth much; he that loseth friends, loseth more; But he that loseth his spirit loseth all.”—Spanish Proverb

Last week, I and my room mate conversed with each other about tax planning and submission. We have already invested enough money to bring down the tax amount to NIL. But, we confused when matter came about Medical bills. Because, in real, I have medical expenses up to 500 rupees including my dependents. He has around 1000 rupees. He told me coldly that “I will arrange fake bills; you can also try for the same…” I didn’t argue with him. I told him that “I will not do the same.” Instead, I will pay the taxes on medical bills. He simply told me that “Though, you are winning Ethical, Character values, you are not financial wise person.”

Since that day, that conversation and statement made me think about that very deeply. It’s not the case with my room mate only. I have seen same attitude in others, so called highly educated and well cultured persons, too. I really wondered how one can cheat them selves for the matter of money. And that’s not the greater that what they earned per month. For to save money at around 3000 rupees, one becomes ready to make fake bills, buy fake bills, and worst thing is that they are ready to label the false diseases to one’s self and thier near ones. How cheap becomes our ethical values? It is fine that no one can see it. No one can able to judge the truth ness of it. The fact is that our inner self knows about it. If I say it with confidence, the truth is that while doing any fake things, “One time, your inner self prevents you to walk in that path!!” But what cares about that when the matter of Vitamin – M (Money) is there.

We all are know the real and true fact that “No one can able to take all wealth, money, material things with us when we depart from this world” But every one just become blinds in the race of material wealth and this one creates unethical behavior in our selves. I have not written this article to teach a lesson of ethical or spiritual behavior. Each of us has an ethics & spirituality as an integral part of it. But, in the race of wealth and material things, we have covered it with unethical and fake ways.

I am not going to submit fake bills. I accept the label which my friend told me with great pleasure that “I enriched my ethical & character values, but I am not financial wise person!”

What about you?

I would like to end my article with the famous quote from “Atharva Veda”:
“Money and mansions are not only the wealth. Hoard the wealth of the spirit.Character is wealth; good conduct is wealth. And spiritual wisdom is wealth.”
